Standards for Events group is part of the City of West
Lafayette Go Greener Commission initiative to increase awareness of
environmental issues related to events in the area. This site has
information for people wishing to know more about greener events. We
help with green events in the Tippecanoe county area in Indiana.

Ways for the public
to get involved
- Join us!
We
meet every other Wednesday evening in the
West Lafayette Public Library board room. Please email us to find out
the next meeting date.
- Volunteer.
Go greener is always looking for volunteers to
help
with recycling at
events. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, email us at
 .
- Contact the
organizer or vendor of a Tippecanoe-area event and express your
interest in green events. Point
them to this website and our contact information. Explain why being
green is important to you. Copy and paste the following email message:
Dear
(name of event organizer/vendor),
I am writing to let you
know my hope
that (name of event)
becomes more socially responsible and environmentally friendly. I am
very concerned for the environment and a few simple changes to the
event can make a great positive difference, while not making these
changes has a negative impact. I would like this event to become Go
Greener Certified. To find out more about the Go Greener certification
program, please visit www.gogreenerevents.org.
